ECW (Episcopal Church Women)

The ECW is an organization of women in the Episcopal Church, both locally and worldwide, whose mission is to empower women to do Christ's ministry in the world. Their vision is the they become a vibrant blend of all ages coming together as a peacemaking, healing part of the Church. They aspire to be a God spark - shining and sharing the love of Christ.

Meetings: Every 3rd Wednesday, 6:30 p.m. - Conklin Hall

From 10-11:15 a.m. every Thursday, except on Chicken Luncheon days, a group of us meets in one of our homes to read, study, argue, and enjoy each other's company.  We follow the Synthesis CE, and we make an effort to understand the upcoming Bible readings in the context of 2000 years ago as well as today.  It is always interesting, educational, and enjoyable.  If you would like to become part of this, or start your own group, call Pat Uibel at (609) 747-1619.

St. Stephen's Choir is an open group of people who enjoy singing.  Our responsibility is to lead the 10 a.m. service each Sunday as well as provide special music.  We also lead special services during the Easter and Christmas seasons.  Because of busy schedules, we rehearse on Sunday mornings right after the 10:00 service.  The members of choir are looking forward to welcoming new members.  Contact person:  Dori Schubert at (609) 387-0597.

Ushers

The Ushers are an important part of the services at St. Stephens'. They keep people informed by handing out the service bulletin as people arrive and they usually present the Bread and Wine at the Offertory and also collect and present the Offering.

 At present, the Altar Guild is a group of women who make sure church is ready for Sunday services, weddings, funerals, and decorated for holidays.  We meet at least four times a year to take suggestions, answer questions, and make sure there are no problems.  If there is anyone interested in joining, please call the Church Office at (609) 387-0169.

Greeters are a special group as they are the first person to speak to anyone entering the church regardless if that person is a newcomer or an regular attendee. Everyone is met with a smile, an outstretched hand and a warm welcome.

Our Chicken Luncheons is one of St. Stephen's on-going fundraiser.  Six are planned each year.  Every member of our congregation can help us earn more money to support the budget by a donation of time, cash, food supplies, or being a customer by attending or ordering take-out.   Our first luncheon this season is mid-September 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Schedule: 3rd Thursdays of January, March, April, May, September, October, & November

Hoagie sales are held on the first Saturday of every month except for July, August, September & December. All hoagies are handmade on the premises and can be pre-ordered via the link on the home page or by calling the church office.
